A great tune can take pretty much anything you throw at it.

I've spent the last fifteen years playing in a ceilidh band, but my teenage heart really belongs to metal. In this project, I've tried to bring the two together, arranging folk tunes in a prog/rock/metal style. These are largely taken from the Playford collection, but there are a couple of modern tunes and one from John Offord's John of the Green collection.

If you have a favourite tune, ideally Playford, that you'd like to receive "the treatment" and of course the obligatory metal ümlauts, do let me know. And if you're a musician in the North West of England who fancies playing this stuff live, let's do it!

Everything is played/programmed/arranged/produced by me and recorded in Ableton Live primarily using amp and cab simulators from nickcrowlab.blogspot.co.uk and lepouplugins.blogspot.co.uk. I had an enormous amount of fun producing this.
